Emma is Programme Manager for Lifelong Engagement for the Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) programme, looking after how Fellows stay engaged as their work continues and develops.
Emma previously managed the Bertha Challenge Fellowship, where she supported activists, journalists, lawyers and filmmakers to tackle threats to democracy. Before that, she oversaw the Media Viability strand of The Guardian Foundation's work, running programmes to support the survival of independent media in democracies under threat. She holds a Bachelors in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Leeds, and a Masters in Inequality and Social Science from LSE.
