Active Fellowship Year
The Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity programme is a transformative experience that emphasises learning, connection and reflection. For both our Residential Fellows and our Non-Residential Fellows, the fellowship journey begins with an immersive year at the London School of Economics and Political Science, centred around key learning modules. It is an intense and demanding year that requires full commitment from Fellows as they join a community that helps to support, challenge, and deepen their learning and practice.
APPLICATION DATES
Applications for the 2026-27 Cohort will open in October 2025.

Our fellowship programme offers two tracks: Residential and Non-Residential. Participants in both tracks participate in rigorous academic coursework, leadership and skills development, and practical approaches to fostering social change.

Our curriculum and approach to learning brings together a structural analysis of global inequalities and examines the ways that people resist and challenge inequalities. The four AFSEE Modules consist of lectures, panel debates, presentations, group work, and community-building.
The AFSEE Fellowship has allowed me to develop deep relationships with extraordinary people working against inequalities worldwide, reinforcing the belief that we need all types of people, disciplines, and approaches to build a caring and equitable world.
The active fellowship year was a period of co-learning and encountering challenging questions about equality and justice. Being in AFSEE’s inclusive and stimulating space was a unique opportunity for me to develop my knowledge and research skills, share my ideas, and learn from Fellows, AFSEE team, and scholars at LSE.
Taking part in the AFSEE Fellowship has been one of the best experiences of my career! It was a privilege to have the opportunity to pause, learn, reflect and be in community with some of the most amazing minds in the global social justice movement.
