This project examines how historical legacies, power dynamics, and systemic inequalities shape development funding across the African continent. Through a collection of essays, the project amplifies African voices and proposes alternative, more equitable funding models. The initiative aims to reimagine philanthropy and resource mobilisation in ways that empower African communities and organisations.
Objectives
- Develop a compendium of essays that critically analyses colonial legacies, representation, and power imbalances in African development funding.
- Highlight innovative, community-driven approaches to decolonising funding and philanthropy in Africa.
- Amplify African scholars, practitioners, and activists by providing a platform for diverse perspectives on funding reform.
