Fellows from the 2023-24 Cohort Begin their Senior Fellowship Journeys

Apr 08, 2025

Members of the 2023-24 Cohort of the Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) programme have successfully completed their active fellowship year and become AFSEE Senior Fellows.

AFSEE has endowed me with vital knowledge on the mechanism of inequality. My greatest take away is being part of a caring and courageous community of Fellows who have inspired me to spark further hope and change in my community.

Henintsoa Daniel Rakotoarison, 2023-24 Cohort Fellow

The graduating Fellows joined the AFSEE Programme, based at LSE International Inequalities Institute, from all across the world in September 2023. During their active fellowship year, the Fellows attended the four Fellowship Modules (three in-person and one online) focusing on Foundations of Social & Economic Inequalities; Policy for Equity; Challenging & Transforming Inequality; and Conflict, Peace, and Justice.

The Residential Fellows from the 2023-24 Cohort were based in London and completed the MSc in Inequalities and Social Science at LSE, and the Non-Residential Fellows stayed in their home contexts and received funding from the AFSEE Programme to execute fellowship projects aimed at offering a new insights, challenges, or solutions to inequalities.

The AFSEE Fellowship is a lifelong journey. After completing the active fellowship year, the graduating members of the 2023-24 Cohort will start their AFSEE Senior Fellowship journeys, where they have access to a variety of funding, initiatives, and collaborative projects to support their professional development, learning, and knowledge exchange, and expand their networks. As Senior Fellows, they will also join the wider Global Atlantic Fellows community comprised of Fellows from all the seven Atlantic Fellowships around the world.
